Monday (July 5) is the fifth day of strict lockdown and restrictions in the country. However, as the days go by, private cars, rickshaws and people are increasing on the roads. People are going out of the house on various excuses. The number of private cars, rickshaws and people is higher today than at the beginning of the severe lockdown. Shops were also seen open in the alleys.
On Monday, the capital’s Mirpur-1, 2, 10, Technical, Shyamoli, Gabtali, Kalyanpur, including the surrounding roads and alleys around the image was seen.
Meanwhile, after being closed for four days, bank-insurance and sheyabazar were reopened on Monday. Due to this, the number of people has increased. Private cars have also increased on the road.
These areas have been visited, and with the increase in the number of vehicles on the road, the activities of the law enforcement agencies have also increased. They want to know the reason for parking the car at different checkposts.
Checkposts are being conducted under the supervision of the army in the technical junction area. Long queues of goods vehicles including private vehicles have also been seen there. Duty army members are checking every vehicle. A case is being filed against the vehicles which went out without any logical reason.
Sergeant Aminul Islam, a member of the law enforcement force at Mirpur-1, said more people took to the streets today than in the past. Those who have come out for some reason or another. We are asking why people are going out – some say they have gone out for shopping and some say they have gone out for banking or office work. So I let them go after questioning.
“We’re active,” he said. If anyone goes out without work, I will fine him. I am sending many people home with awareness. I am trying to make everyone stay at home following the instructions given by the government in lockdown.
