Professor Md Mortuza Ali, former vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) died of Coronavirus infection at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) on Monday (26 July).
He breathed his last at around 2:00am at RMCH Covid unit. He left wife, two sons and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Confirming his death deputy director of press and information, RUET Md Golam Murtuza informed that Prof. Mortuza a teacher of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) department, was admitted to RMCH on 9th July with Covid infection.
The university vice-chancellor Dr Md Rafiqul Islam Sheikh expressed his profound shock at the death of Professor Md Mortuza Ali. In a condolence message, he said the university loss a guardian in his death.
Professor Md. Mortuza Ali joined the EEE department in 1982 as a lecturer and served his duty in various posts including the posts of pro-vice chancellor of the university.
