Staff Reporter: A new committee of the Women’s Workers League has been formed. In this connection, Suraiya Akhter as president and Kazi Rahima Akhter as general secretary took the responsibility.
The Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the conference at the Agriculturalist Institute Auditorium in the farmhouse on Saturday.
The committee was unanimously approved by councilors and delegates from all over the second session of the conference, said Biplob Barua, deputy secretary of the Awami League.
She said that former executive president of the Mahila Workers League, Suraiya Akhter, has been given the responsibility of the president, former general secretary Samsunnahar Bhuiyan as the acting president and former organizational secretary Kazi Rahima Akhter as general secretary for two years.
Biplob Barua said that within a week, the leaders of the committee would announce a full member committee.
The second session of the conference was also attended by Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader, joint general secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak, organizing secretary Aaf Bahauddin Nasim, deputy office secretary Biplob Barua.
The last conference of the Women’s Workers League was held in 20. According to the constitution of the organization, the term of the committee was three years but there was no further conference.
